ERASTUS CHASE TORREY, was born in Windsor, Vt., March 22, 1807. His father, the late Dr. Erastus Torrey, graduated at Dartmouth Medical College, in 1805. He was prepared for college, in Windsor, Vt.
After graduating, he studied medicine, partly, with his father, and partly, with Dr. Charles G. Adams, of Keene, N. H. He received a Medical Degree at Bowdoin College, in 1830; practised, several years, in company with Dr. Adams, and then removed to Windsor, Vt., where he continued practice until 1850 ; when he removed to the West, and ultimately settled in Detroit, Mich., where he now resides. He married Miss Eliza Cabot, and has three children.
