EDWIN JENNISON, a son of William Jennison, was born in Walpole, N. H., August 26, 1805. He pursued his preparatory studies at Alstead, N. H., with Levi Smith; at Windsor, Vt., with R. G. Parker; and at Walpole, with Wm. G. Field. After graduating, he completed the theological course of study, at Andover, in 1830. He was ordained, pastor of a congregational church, in Walpole, N. H., August 17, 1831; dismissed, March 17, 1835; settled, at Mount Vernon,
N. H., April 6, 1836; dismissed, August 19, 1841; settled, at Ashburnham, Mass., May 12, 1842; dismissed, May 12, 1846; settled, at Hopkinton, N. H., January 6, 1847; dismissed, September 5, 1849; for a year and a half, was incapacitated by ill-health, for ministerial duties; has since supplied several small congregations, and, is, at present, supplying in Langdon, N. H.
Mr. Jennison has suffered much from constitutional debility since he left Andover, and has employed the intervals of his different settlements, in efforts to restore his health. In 1841, he visited England, and Scotland, for this purpose.
He married, January 25, 1832, Miss Mary Barker Shannon, a daughter of the late Richard Cutts Shannon, M. D., of Saco, Me. He has -four children;-Edwin Shannon, William Cutts, Mary Theresa, and Helen Maria.
