ELISHA JENNEY, a son of Levy Jenney, was born in Fairhaven, Mass., November 7, 1803. He was prepared for college at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. After graduating, he taught school in Dover, N. H., one year; completed the theological course at New Haven, in 1831; and has since resided in Illinois; having labored, among other places, at Alton, Monticello, and Waverly. He is, at present, acting as a missionary within the bounds of the Illinois Presbytery, and is located at Waverly.
He was married, June 6, 1833, to Miss Lauretta Hitchcock, of Keene, N. H. She died, September 28, 1833, and he was again married, July 24, 1835, to Miss Adaline M. Hitchcock, of Keene, N. H. He has three children;-Marianne L., Edward Winthrop, and Adaline M.
