CHARLES HOPKINS, was horn in Hartford, Ct., March 28, 1805. He was a son of Thomas Hopkins, late of Thetford, Vt. He was prepared for college at Thetford Academy. After graduating, he studied law with John Nelson, Esq., at Haverhill, N. H. He was admitted to the Bar in 1830, and practised in Windsor, Vt., until 1841; when he removed to Washington, D. C., and was Solicitor in the Land Office until 1845. He subsequently removed to Hartford, Conn.; from thence to Cincinnati, Ohio; and from thence to the city of New York; where he now resides, as clerk of the American Mining Company.
Mr. Hopkins represented the town of Windsor, in the Vermont Legislature, in 1838.
He was married, September 28, 1835, to Miss Mary, a daughter of Hon. Horace Everett, of Windsor, Vt.
