WILLIAM BOYDEN, a son of Asa Boyden, was born in Dummerston, Vt., March 27, 1808.
He was prepared for college, partly, in Dummerston, under the tuition of Rev. Hosea Beckley, and, partly, at the academy in Brattleboro, Vt.
After graduating, he was employed in teaching, about a year and a half, in Loudon Co., Va., two years in Windsor, Ct.; and, six months, in Waterford, Pa.
During the summer of 1832, he read law with Hon. John Phelps, in Guilford, Vt., and, in the autumn of the same year, removed to Staunton, Va., where be continued his studies in the Law School of Judge Briscoe G. Baldwin, until his decease, which occurred, from an affection of the brain, April 23, 1833.
